Overview

User Types are how feature permissions are defined and can be assigned to users. Once a User Type is created, it is available in the Users page of the Admin tab and can be applied to a user.

Default User Types

• ADMIN: User has full access to view and modify the account
• INSTALLER: User can edit vehicle information and send the following commands to a vehicle: locate, starter enable, starter disable
• REPO: User can edit vehicle information, view vehicle history and locate vehicles. They can also see the Reports tab
• USER: User can see/use all tabs other than the Admin tab

Creating A Custom User Type

• Click Add in the upper right
• This opens the Create User Type window
• Choose a User Type Name
  • (Optional) You can select an existing user type to start from, using the Start From dropdown
• Use the checkboxes next to the Permissions to define the new user type’s scope
• Click Save

Editing A User Type

• Click the Edit (pencil) icon next to the user type you would like to modify
• This opens the Edit User Type window
• The User Type Name and Permissions can be edited
• Click Save

Deleting A User Type

• Click the Delete (trash can) icon to the right of the user type you would like to remove
• This opens the Delete User Type window
• Click Delete
• This will delete the user type from the system
  You cannot delete any of the default user types
