Overview

GeoFences is the fourth tab in the Vehicle Information slide up, and allows you to see GeoFences that are currently assigned to a vehicle, and add or remove GeoFences from a vehicle. GeoFences are user-created geographic boundaries that are manually sent to specific devices. When those devices enter or exit the boundary, GeoFence Violation alerts are instantly triggered.

Adding a GeoFence to a Device

The maximum number of GeoFences for any device is 10.

To add a GeoFence to a device, select the GeoFence from the dropdown under the GeoFence column.

Use the dropdown under the Type column to choose when a GeoFence Violation alert should be triggered. The options are:

  • Enter/Exit: Triggers a violation whenever the vehicle enters or exits the boundary.
  • Enter: Only triggers a violation when the vehicle enters the boundary.
  • Exit: Only triggers a violation when the vehicle exits the boundary

Click Save under the Action column.

This will send out a Set GeoFence command to the device. When the command response comes back successfully, the GeoFence will be added to the device.

Viewing a GeoFence

Click the View link under the Action column to the right of the GeoFence to show a map of the GeoFence.

Removing a GeoFence

To remove a GeoFence from a device, click the Clear link under the Action column next to the GeoFence you want to remove.

This will send a Clear GeoFence command to the device. When the command response comes back successfully, the GeoFence will be removed from the device.
